How to make Roblox daily rewards (with AI)

By Sametcan Tasgiran, Founder & Developer·Published ·Updated

A Roblox daily-rewards system needs three wired-up parts: a streak counter, a per-day reward table, and a save flow. Ask Picoo for daily rewards and the model writes all three for your game; the example below also has a calendar UI that highlights today's reward.

Example output: 5 files · 170 lines. A 7-day cycle in this example; the model writes the code for your request, so the files and cycle can differ.

Streak counter

Increments on each daily claim. In this example it resets if more than 36 hours pass between claims; the limit is a constant you can change.

Per-day reward table

Day 1 small, day 7 jackpot. Common pattern: cash, gems, pet, weapon. Configurable in a Lua table.

Calendar UI

7-day grid showing past claims (checked), today's reward (highlighted), future days (locked).

DataStore save

The last claim time and streak are saved per player through the game's save module (SaveService in the sample), so they carry over across server restarts and rejoins.

Anti-replay

Server validates the 24-hour window before granting the reward. Client cannot fake the time.

Cycle wraparound

Day 8 wraps back to day 1: the day is ((streak - 1) % 7) + 1. A bonus for each completed cycle is a follow-up prompt.

Example output from a build like this

5 files in this example. Picoo writes this code for your prompt, so file names and sizes vary.

Sample output: ServerScriptService/DailyRewards.lua

--!strict
-- ServerScriptService/DailyRewards.lua  (example)
local Players = game:GetService("Players")
local ReplicatedStorage = game:GetService("ReplicatedStorage")
local ClaimRemote = ReplicatedStorage:WaitForChild("Remotes"):WaitForChild("ClaimRemote")
local Config = require(ReplicatedStorage.Modules.RewardConfig)
local SaveService = require(script.Parent.SaveService)

local DAY_SECONDS = 86400
local STREAK_BREAK_SECONDS = 86400 * 1.5

ClaimRemote.OnServerInvoke = function(player: Player): { day: number, reward: any }?
    local data = SaveService:Get(player) or { lastClaim = 0, streak = 0 }
    local now = os.time()

    if now - data.lastClaim < DAY_SECONDS then return nil end -- already claimed today
    if now - data.lastClaim > STREAK_BREAK_SECONDS then data.streak = 0 end

    data.streak += 1
    data.lastClaim = now
    SaveService:Set(player, data)

    local day = ((data.streak - 1) % 7) + 1
    return { day = day, reward = Config[day] }
end

Building Roblox daily rewards

Daily rewards are a high-retention mechanic when built right and a free-money exploit when built wrong. The decisive pattern is server clock authority, and the example below is built on it.

Server clock authority means the server stores os.time() of the last claim and rejects any claim within DAY_SECONDS. Client cannot fake the time — even if exploiters set their system clock to next year, the server uses its own clock. The claim is fully gated by the server's view of time.

The streak math is simple: increment on each successful claim. Reset to 0 if more than 36 hours have elapsed since the last claim (configurable). On a fresh streak, day 1 gives the day 1 reward — the player does not lose progression entirely if they miss a day, but the streak goes back to start.

The cycle wraparound keeps the reward shape repeating: day 8 is day 1 of a new cycle, worked out as ((streak - 1) % 7) + 1. Change the 7 to the table's length and the same formula runs a 14 or 30-day cycle. Many games add a bonus for each completed cycle to reward consistent players; ask for one in a follow-up prompt.

In this example the calendar is a 7-day grid. Past claims show a checkmark, today's reward is highlighted, and future days are locked. Tapping today fires the claim remote, the server validates the claim and returns the reward, and a toast pop-up animates on the client.

Frequently asked

How long is a 'day'?+

In this example, 24 hours since the last claim. It can be a calendar day instead (00:00 UTC reset) if you want everyone to claim at the same time; a rolling 24 hours is friendlier across timezones.

When does the streak reset?+

In this example, when more than 36 hours have passed since the last claim. The streak resets to 0 on the next claim and the player receives the day 1 reward. Ask for 24 or 48 hours if you want it stricter or looser.

Can I have a 30-day cycle?+

Yes. RewardConfig is a Lua table: give it 30 entries and change the 7 in ((streak - 1) % 7) + 1 to 30, or to #Config so the cycle always follows the table.

How does anti-replay work?+

The server stores os.time() of the last claim for each player in their save data and rejects claim attempts within DAY_SECONDS. The client cannot replay or fake the time; the server's clock is the one that counts.

Can I add a 'login 7 days = jackpot' bonus?+

Yes. Day 7 in RewardConfig can be a big reward. For repeat-cycle bonuses (day 14, 21), check the wraparound count and tier rewards by cycle.
